Unlike cotton, bamboo is a high yield crop which reaches harvest without the needs of any chemical fertilisers or pesticides. The fibrous stems are then processed and woven to create a fabric with a silky, cotton-like texture , that is hard wearing yet gentle enough for even infants.

Prior to commissioning Koisi, creative director and founder, Supriya Chohan, had worked as a lawyer during the week and followed her enthusiasm in interior design during the weekends. This meant her sleep was valuable.

Although it is ideal to sleep between 7-9 hours a night,  it can be difficult to do so. Therefore, Koisi was born to create products that would ensure good quality sleep, no matter the duration.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, more than 75% of people found that the comfortable feeling of sheets and bedding are most important to a good night's rest.

That's why Koisi took the challenge in creating bed sheets that were not only silky soft, but incredibly breathable.

From in depth research and many nights sleep, we realised bamboo fabric gave the answer.

For this reason, we created our own range of bamboo bed linen.

Koisi took a proactive approach to procuring bamboo fabric suppliers whilst ensuring that full transparency and sustainable practices were enacted across the business. The factory selected in China adheres to strict environmental standards, using wild bamboo and eco-friendly dyes.

Our bamboo (see more info here) fibre is made from well-selected non-polluted bamboo in the Sichuan Provence and is selected of 100% natural growth.
